GARDINER- Hundreds of disrobed demonstrators converged on the grounds of the Mohonk Mountain House today to demonstrate against the decision this week to formally forbid nude sunbathing and skinny-dipping in an area of the nearby Mohonk Nature Preserve.
“For decades, we nudists have frolicked in the waters of the Coxing Kill,” said participant Elizabeth Cherry. “Why Mohonk suddenly decided to throw a towel over us, we can barely imagine. We have nothing hide, and that’s the whole truth!”
Organizers of the “Send (in the) Nudes Rally in the Raw” say they hope the demonstration sends a stark message to the Mohonk Preserve board of directors.
“This action is clearly a fig leaf meant to conceal some ulterior motive,” said organizer Francis Talleywacker. “We aim to get to the bottom of it.”
